Western Academy of Beijing Brand Guide

The final step before full implementation of the new WAB brand was the creation of a comprehensive Brand Guide. This document unified the strategy and the visual system into one central reference. Part One defined the strategic foundation. Part Two translated that strategy into visual expression.

A core objective was usability. The brand needed to function inside a large school with many non-designers producing presentations, proposals, and internal communications. To support this, we developed a structured grid system that enabled clarity and consistency without requiring advanced design skill.

The cover illustration reinforced this logic. It integrated key emotional and strategic themes within a grid motif, signaling that structure and meaning were working together.

The guide also formalized the visual system refined in collaboration with MEAT Beijing. It served both as instruction and demonstration. For the Board, cultural alignment was essential. To reflect this, I developed a series of geometric patterns inspired by traditional Chinese architectural forms, allowing communications to express cultural grounding in a contemporary, disciplined way.
